Bengali Language
According to UNESCO, Bengali language is the sweetest language of the world. Bengali is one of the major languages of India, and the main language in the state of West Bengal in eastern India. Its also the mother tongue of the Bengali community of India. Besides this, Bengali is also spoken in Bangladesh, a neighboring country of India. In fact, in Bangladesh Bengali is virtually the sole spoken language, and enjoys the status of the National Language.
It has been always our pride because we are those who speaks in the sweetest language of the world.
Bengali language has been contributing in the arena of literature since a very long time. The conquest of Bengal by the Mauryas in the 3rd century BC led to the spread of Aryan languages in the Bengal delta. The Bengali language, however, developed from prakrit, through apabhrangsha and abahattha and outside the direct influence of Aryan languages. The earliest extant specimens of ancient Bengali are the 47 spiritual hymns now known ascharyapada composed by Buddhist monks. Because the language of these hymns is only partly understood, it is called sandhya or twilight language. The Charyapada hymns possess both linguistic and literary value. The Siddhacharya, or composers of the Charyapada hymns, include Luipa, Bhusukupa, kahnapa and Shavarpa.
